The OEVCA website uses a wordpress template that I made specifically for the OEVCA. In I used Adobe color to source a palette, and then mocked up the site on Adobe XD. I created icons and the “roof gables” footer using adobe illustrator and developed a bash script that would allow me to generate svgs of icons in any of my theme colors, so that I didn’t have to keep changing them manually in illustrator.
The theme itself uses HTML, CSS and a bit of JavaScript. I use the Modern Events Calendar Lite plugin, and I did some work to integrate PayPal membership payments.
To improve accessibility, I paid attention to color contrast and clear design. I also tried to ensure that the reading order makes sense for a screen reader as well, testing with Apple Voiceover.
Unfortunately this organization disbanded over covid, so the site is no longer available online. However the code is available on github
